If you are not a South African citizen, Picup asks for an asylum seeker document, work permit or visa, and then writes “etc”.

That is all it says. There is no help article about it and nothing about which permit types count.

What is missing

A passport. Picup has one ID document slot and does not say what fills it. Most companies here name a passport, and several say a passport alone is not enough. Picup says neither.

A refugee status document. Picup names the section 22 asylum document, not the section 24 refugee one. That is the wrong way round. UNHCR says a refugee under section 24 has the right to seek work. An asylum seeker under section 22 does not, unless the permit is endorsed.

An international driving permit. Not named.

Why the silence costs money here

On most platforms you find out where you stand while filling in a free form. Picup's process has a paid step in the middle: the DEKRA vehicle assessment, at R170.00 to R300.00, before activation.
